Fort Erie is open for business on a cool, cloudy Monday — 59°F with overcast skies setting the mood for a compact six-race card that punches well above its weight. Little Iris (No. 3) is our place pick and the most likely horse to separate herself from the rest of the pack behind the top choice. Her 67.26 rating leads the mid-tier group, and Juan Crawford in the irons gives her a capable pilot at this level. With a 14% career win rate and a solid average speed figure of 52, she projects as a solid each-way play.
Little Fire (No. 4) rounds out the trifecta projection with a 62.78 rating and matching average speed of 53 alongside the top two. Steve Jadoo rides for trainer Kenneth R. Smith, and while a 9% career win rate doesn't scream upside, at 7/2 on the morning line she represents fair value to hit the board in a five-horse field where the top of the order is defined.

Leo Salles takes the mount for trainer Roy George Agostino, and the 20% career win rate ties for the field's best — a mark that tells you this horse knows how to finish the job. The average speed figure of 55 matches the leaders in this field, so there's no speed deficit to overcome. If the pace heats up between the shorter-priced horses, Paperback Hero is ideally positioned to close through the chaos.
Blue Max (No. 3) holds a 82.40 rating and also checks in at 20% career wins — the joint-best in the field — making him the one horse that genuinely threatens our top pick on raw numbers. Steve Jadoo rides for trainer Kevin Buttigieg, and at 9/5 on the morning line the market clearly agrees he belongs near the top. He's a solid place play even if Paperback Hero fires best.
Fairway to Heaven (No. 4) sits at 78.12 on the TrackWiz scale and shares a 55 average speed figure with the top two picks, meaning she can keep pace through the fractions. Helen Marie Vanek rides for trainer Nick Guy Mileni, Jr. — the same barn that also saddles Bingo's Grind — and at 4/1 on the morning line she offers enough price to make the trifecta worth structuring around her.

Dancin Mary Marie (No. 1) is our top selection and the most intriguing play of the first three races — she owns an 85.62 TrackWiz rating, the highest in the field by a solid margin, yet she's posted at 4/1 on the morning line while Go Go Alexander opens as the 2/1 public choice. Desean Bynoe gets the call for trainer Desmond Maynard. Yes, a 5% career win rate gives pause, but the average speed figure of 54 ties for the field's best and the overall rating suggests those prior losses may have come in tougher spots. On turf at seven furlongs, class and speed figure often matter more than raw win percentage.
Go Go Alexander (No. 4) is the morning-line favorite and understandably so — a 14% career win rate and a 75.25 rating make him a legitimate contender even if we slot him second in our analysis. Juan Crawford rides for trainer Sharon Ceccato, and with an average speed figure of 53 he should be competitive through the stretch. He's a safe place play even for those who want to flip the win order.
Sassagoula River (No. 5) brings a 74.67 rating and a matching 14% career win figure to the table, nearly mirroring Go Go Alexander's profile at a slightly better price of 9/2. Luis Contreras — one of the more accomplished riders on the Fort Erie circuit — takes the mount for trainer Michael V. Cohen, and that jockey angle alone is worth noting. At that morning line, she's a value inclusion in trifecta tickets.
