Gotta Gun Runner (87 morning line: 5/2) rates second in the field at 75.81 and gets the services of Flavien Prat, one of the best in the country at getting green horses to run their race. A full maiden turf sprint with 12 runners and nearly every horse showing a zeroed-out speed figure — this is a projection game, and the top of the TrackWiz ratings sheet is thin enough that a pacey trip could scramble the result.
Fire Marshal leads all runners with a TrackWiz rating of 58.33 and is the lone horse in the field with a recorded average speed figure (56), giving our models something concrete to hang a projection on. Playing Tricks is the standout selection here with a field-best TrackWiz rating of 88.54 and a career win percentage of 40% — that's not a misprint, nearly half of all career starts have ended in the winner's circle. Chad C. Brown and Manuel Franco form one of the sharpest trainer-jockey alliances at the Spa, and dropping into claiming company with those numbers screams class advantage. The 2/1 morning line will likely compress further, but the win probability here is simply too high to look elsewhere.
