In maiden special weight company, a horse this well-rated going a mile and 70 yards on dirt for a top-shelf trainer is exactly the kind of play you make with confidence. The caveat with any maiden is first-out unpredictability, but the profile here is as strong as it gets.

Playingon Broadway for Jonathan Buckley comes in rated second in the field at 74.87 and draws the 7/2 morning line — making it the second choice by the public and by our numbers alike. In Race 1, Ekwanok sits at 2/1 on the morning line with an 81.4 TrackWiz rating in an Allowance sprint — a respectable number, though the price suggests the field will push back. Race 3's Claiming sprint brings in Ava's Uncle Billy at 5/2, who posted the card's second-highest free-race rating at 87.81 — that's a horse worth watching closely out of the gate.

But Race 2 is the centerpiece of the free slate. Raghba opens at even money in a mile-and-70-yard Maiden Special Weight and leads all free picks with a 90.0 TrackWiz rating — that's a standout number in any maiden field. The distance suits a horse that figures to appreciate ground, and a dry, firm surface today should keep things honest. If Raghba fires her best effort, she could be tough to catch.
