Colonial Downs is rolling out a nine-race Saturday card under cloudy skies with temperatures hovering around a comfortable 82°F — about as good as late-August in Virginia gets. No rain in the forecast means the turf should be playing firm and fast, which is great news given that five of today's nine races are contested on the grass.

The card has some real teeth to it. You've got two stakes races on the turf sprint (Races 3 and 7), a handicap to close out the turf action in Race 8, and a pair of maiden events that could produce some overlay value if you know where to look.
