That kind of weather tends to produce consistent, reliable footing — good news if you like horses that run to their figures, because today's nine-race dirt card rewards handicappers who do their homework.

We've got a little bit of everything today: a lightning-quick 400-yard quarter-horse opener, a pair of maiden claiming battles, some allowance action, and a couple of claiming races that figure to draw sharp attention late in the card.
