Will Rogers Picks & Predictions — October 25, 2026
Will Rogers Downs is open for business on Sunday, October 25, and the track is serving up a tight 10-race card that quarter-horse fans are going to want to pay close attention to. Skies are cloudy with temperatures sitting at a comfortable 71°F — solid conditions for fast times on the dirt.
The early portion of the card is headlined by back-to-back Futurity Trials in Races 1 and 2, giving us our first real look at some of the younger talent in the region. From there, the card transitions through claiming, maiden, and allowance company, wrapping up with a Maiden finale in Race 10. Ten races, plenty of angles, and TrackWiz has you covered on every single one.
Best Bets
Race 1
Futurity Trial · 400 yd · Dirt
A tight Futurity Trial at 400 yards with two horses rated in the mid-to-upper 80s sitting just a step apart — expect a razor-thin finish at the wire between a pair of contenders with very different morning-line prices.
Kentucky Owl tops our ratings at 87.81 and draws the morning line at a reasonable 5/2 despite being our top selection — that combination of strong analytical score and fair price is exactly the spot we want to be. Jockey Aram S. Martinez gets the call for trainer Stacey L. Capps, a rider-trainer combo worth noting in a short sprint where confidence and a clean break mean everything. At 400 yards, there's no margin for error, and Kentucky Owl's profile suggests the horse is ready to fire a big effort today.
Big Rotney is no pushover here — an 85.40 TrackWiz rating pairs with an impressive 71% career win percentage, the highest in this field by a wide margin. Trainer Matt Whitekiller sends him out with Cody Rodger Smith up, and at 3/1 on the morning line, there's real value in keeping Big Rotney on your ticket. He's a horse who knows how to finish, and that win rate doesn't lie.
Bella Bc checks in with a 67.73 rating and a 40% career win percentage — second-best in the field among horses with a meaningful sample. Randy Vega takes the mount for trainer Marco Adair Chavez-Gutierrez, and at 2/1 on the morning line, she'll likely be the public's choice. Including her in show position and exotics is sensible given her win rate, even if our ratings slot her third.
Race 2
Futurity Trial · 400 yd · Dirt
Zazas Coconut Cartel dominates the ratings in this second Futurity Trial section, but the question is whether a 2/1 favorite in a short field can be taken at face value or if there's enough underneath to make exotics interesting.
Zazas Coconut Cartel carries the top TrackWiz rating in the field at 88.54 and shows a 28% career win percentage with Gonzalo Gutierrez up for trainer Kasey Willis — a pairing that has clearly done their homework at this distance. At 2/1, this is about as straightforward a top selection as you'll find on the card today; the rating gap between Coconut Cartel and the rest of the field is meaningful. In a six-horse sprint at 400 yards, breaking clean and asserting early could make this look very easy.
Wf Manfredi rates second in the field at 64.82 and brings a 30% career win percentage into the gate — that's a solid conversion rate for a horse that Mario Delgado rides for trainer Michael Moss. The morning line at 3/1 reflects some public respect, and if Coconut Cartel hits any trouble, Manfredi is positioned to capitalize. He's the logical key underneath in exactas.
Dw Showin Sin Off rates third in the field at 59.02 despite being listed at 6/1 on the morning line — that's a potential price overlay if the public underestimates Jasten Pedraza and trainer Michael Moss, who also saddle Wf Manfredi in this same race. A dual-entry barn often brings extra preparation, and Showin Sin Off's rating justifies a spot on multi-horse tickets. At 6/1, the show return could be a nice bonus if things set up right.
Race 3
Claiming · 330 yd · Dirt
Three horses bunch tightly in the ratings between 80 and 88 in this 330-yard claiming sprint, setting up a genuine three-way battle and making exacta and trifecta construction the smart play for bettors.
Anna Jess Chacha tops the field with an 87.81 TrackWiz rating — matching the highest score we've seen on today's card — and Jasten Pedraza gets the call for trainer Valerie Torres in a race where the top three horses are separated by less than 10 rating points. At 5/2 on the morning line, the price is fair for the top-rated horse. Her 14% career win percentage is modest, but in a claiming field at this level, it's the rating edge that matters most.
Kosmic Lights rates second at 83.42 and actually carries the best career win percentage of the top three contenders at 26% — that's a horse that knows how to close the deal. Javier Hernandez-Gallardo rides for trainer Michelle Hurdle, and the 2/1 morning line means the public is squarely behind this one too. In exactas, the Chacha-Kosmic Lights combination looks like the most logical structure.
Ivory Lips is right in the mix at 80.49 on our ratings, and Roman Cruz is one of the busier riders on this card for trainer Jesus Ruben Ruiz — a barn that saddles multiple horses today, suggesting they're running their horses in form. The 3/1 morning line is reasonable, and Ivory Lips' inclusion in trifecta and show wagers is well-supported by the rating. Don't overlook this one as a sneaky live ticket.
We're giving away full analysis on the first three races today, and there's real playability across all three. In Race 1, Kentucky Owl (morning line 5/2, TrackWiz rating 87.81) draws our top mark in the Futurity Trial at 400 yards — a horse worth watching closely right out of the gate. Race 2 brings another Futurity Trial at the same distance, and Zazas Coconut Cartel comes in as our top-rated horse on the entire card at 88.54, posted at 2/1 on the morning line. That's the kind of number that gets our attention in a short-field sprint format where small edges can mean big separations at the wire.
Swing over to Race 3 — a Claiming sprint at 330 yards — and Anna Jess Chacha (5/2, 87.81) rounds out the free slate. The sprint distances today are unforgiving; there's no room to make up ground, so horses that break clean and rate well off the gate hold a significant edge. All three of our free picks fit that profile.
