We're out at Mountaineer Park on a cool, overcast Tuesday — 60 degrees and cloudy skies greeting an 8-race card that mixes turf routes and dirt sprints in a way that should keep handicappers busy from first post to last. Conditions feel like classic late-October West Virginia racing, and that kind of weather tends to keep the turf firm enough for speed to matter.
The card opens with a pair of Starter Optional Claiming routes on the turf before shifting entirely to dirt for six straight races, including a couple of mile routes that could produce some sharp pace scenarios. There's a real range of opportunity here — a few short-priced horses we like, and a couple of big-price plays that TrackWiz analysis flagged as legitimate live longshots.

A sprawling 14-horse turf mile with genuine top-end talent scattered throughout — El Ondeado heads a surprisingly deep field where the morning line doesn't tell the whole story.
El Ondeado tops our TrackWiz ratings at 87.08 — the highest mark in the field by a comfortable margin — and that number does a lot of the talking in a race this competitive. Trainer Denis Cluley also saddles Tizawhitefacecat, so he's clearly live in this spot with a strong understanding of the conditions. Kevin Gonzalez gets the call and at 3/1 on the morning line, there's still some value here given the edge in our ratings over the rest of the field.
Ramesses (8) rates out second in the field at 79.22 and carries the morning line favoritism at 2/1, which tells you the oddsmakers respect this horse's class in this spot. Francisco Garcia is up, and the horse's overall profile makes a top-two finish very realistic. If El Ondeado falters, Ramesses is the most logical beneficiary.
Soupersilverdollar (3) is our show pick and the value angle here — at 10/1 on the morning line, the public is underestimating a horse that rates out at 75.06, third-best in the field. Andrew R. Ramgeet takes the mount for trainer Harry Pease, and a horse with an 18% career win rate that's flying under the radar in a big field is exactly the kind of inclusion that pays off in exotics.

Mountaineer's 8-race Tuesday card has genuine upside from top to bottom. El Ondeado and Class Actor anchor the free plays, and Verbier is the horse to beat in the nightcap. Don't sleep on the longshot angles — Super Honey Timber at 9/1 on the turf and Dream Life at 9/1 on the dirt are exactly the kind of prices that make exotic tickets pay. Full pace projections, exotic strategies, and complete field ratings are waiting for subscribers — head to /pricing to unlock the full card. Good luck out there.
