One True Dude is our best bet among today's free picks — landing in Race 1 (5½ furlongs on the turf) with a jockey who has cashed in 52% of starts over the past year and a horse that has placed in seven straight. That kind of board presence is hard to ignore at 4/1 on the morning line.
Conditions at Laurel are about as good as it gets for a November Friday — partly cloudy skies, 67°F, and turf races sprinkled throughout the nine-race card. That mild weather should keep the turf firm and fast, which matters on a day where three of the nine races are contested on the green.
The full card mixes Claiming and Maiden company with an Allowance headliner in Race 8, giving everyone from casual bettors to serious players plenty to dig into. Saint Shance (Race 4) and Engaged Is Better (Race 9) both popped with sim win percentages north of 35% in our models — that's the kind of number that gets our attention.

A wide-open 14-horse turf sprint with no clear pace shape, but the top three TrackWiz-rated horses — One True Dude, Gimme Two Shots, and Baltic — are tightly bunched and each brings a legitimate case. The chalk here isn't a lock; there's real value hiding in the middle of this field.
One True Dude is the top-rated horse in the field at 85.17, and his consistency record is flat-out impressive — he's hit the board in every one of his last four starts and seven straight overall. Carlos Eduardo Lopez, one of the sharper sticks in this jock colony with a 21% win rate over the past year, gets the call. The one flag: he's listed as older than the field average by over a year, so if the turf favors younger legs, that's worth noting. Still, our simulations gave him a 16% win share, making him the most reliable anchor for exotics in this chaotic field.
Gimme Two Shots checks in as the second-ranked horse at 83.25 and has posted the third-fastest recent race speed in the field at 11.76 seconds per furlong. He's also hit the board in two straight, and trainer Emanuel Geralis — who also sends out the top pick — rates an A-minus, giving this barn a strong one-two punch. At 5/1 on the morning line, there's solid place value here.
Baltic owns the fastest recent race speed figure in the entire field at 11.69 seconds per furlong, which is a real edge going 5.5 furlongs on turf. He's rated third overall at 79.55, has placed in four of his last six, and jockey Jose Batista brings a 19% win rate. At 5/2 on the morning line, he may be the shortest-priced horse in the trio, but his sharp recent form makes him a sound show inclusion in multi-leg tickets.

Race 1 is the lone free look today, and One True Dude earns it. The 5½-furlong turf sprint plays right into a pace scenario where horses with consistent late energy tend to find their way into the frame — and seven straight placings tells you this horse knows how to show up. At 4/1, the morning line leaves a little meat on the bone if the board holds.
The firm turf conditions today should benefit horses with clean recent form, and One True Dude fits that profile. Even if you're just getting your feet wet with TrackWiz, Race 1 is a solid starting point before the premium card heats up.
