Horseshoe Indianapolis Picks & Predictions — May 25, 2026
Happy Memorial Day Monday at Horseshoe Indianapolis. Ten races are on the board today, stretching from quick 250-yard quarter-horse sprints to a route going a mile and 70 yards, all on a dirt surface under comfortable 72°F partly cloudy skies. Conditions look ideal — no weather excuses today, just horses running on a fair, consistent track.
The card has a little bit of everything: maiden claimers to kick things off, a pair of allowance spots in the middle, a MSW sprint that grabs our attention late in the card, and a couple of short-field quarter-horse dashes to close out the evening. With 10 races across multiple conditions and distances, there are plenty of angles to attack whether you're playing singles or building multi-race exotics.
TrackWiz analysis has three free races unlocked for everyone today — Races 1, 2, and 3 — so even if you're just dipping your toes in, you've got real data-backed picks to work with right out of the gate.
Best Bets
Race 1
Maiden Claiming · 5 1/2 fur · Dirt
A wide-open maiden claimer where TrackWiz ratings separate the field clearly — one horse stands out on paper, but maiden dirt sprints at this level are notoriously unpredictable.
I Conduit (#2) earns a TrackWiz rating of 84.9 — more than 19 points clear of the next-best horse in here — and posts an average speed figure of 56, tops in the field. Trainer Aaron M. West saddles two in this race, and it's telling that Samuel E. Bermudez, the more established rider of the barn's two entrants, gets the call on this one. At 9/2 on the morning line, there's still a reasonable price attached to the top-rated horse, which makes the win bet all the more appealing.
Long Acting (#6) checks in with a TrackWiz rating of 65.95 and matches several rivals with an average speed figure of 52. Trainer Rogelio Labra sends this one out at a fair 5/1 morning line, and the place slot looks like a solid landing spot given the clear rating edge over the lower half of the field.
Run David Run (#3) shares the 52 average speed figure with a cluster of mid-pack rivals, but a TrackWiz rating of 63.21 nudges him just ahead of that group. At 6/1, he offers show value in exotics and is a reasonable underneath piece in trifecta constructions for anyone wanting to spread.
Race 2
Maiden Claiming · 5 1/2 fur · Dirt
This maiden claimer features a sizable field with a clear top two on ratings, but the morning line puts one of them at chalk prices — setting up a value play if the second choice runs her race.
Nancy's Kitten (#10) leads all comers with a TrackWiz rating of 86.35 — the highest number in this field — and posts an average speed figure of 53, on par with the competitive core of this group. Jockey Luis Contreras climbs aboard for trainer Joseph D. Davis, a capable connection at this level. At 7/2, she's not a steal, but the rating gap over even the second-best horse is substantial enough that she's a confident win selection.
I'malittlethirsty (#11) is the morning-line favorite at 3/1 and backs it up with a TrackWiz rating of 78.0 — second-best in the field by a comfortable margin. Mitchell Murrill, who is very active in this meet, handles the mount for trainer Robert M. Gorham. The place position here is about collecting on a likely exacta key underneath the top pick.
Sassy Julia (#2) sits third in TrackWiz ratings at 60.95, a meaningful step below the top two but clear of the rest of a crowded 11-horse field. Alex Achard gets the call at 9/2 on the morning line, and with the depth of this field, she offers legitimate show upside and trifecta utility.
Race 3
Allowance · 5 1/2 fur · Dirt
The allowance condition filters out the maiden horses, and a sharp class divide emerges — the top-rated runner here carries a meaningful speed figure edge, though a pair of horses with strong career win percentages could complicate matters.
Texas Free (#3) tops the TrackWiz ratings at 86.35 and brings the best average speed figure in the field at 56, a clear edge over rivals who mostly clock in at 53-55. A 20% career win rate is respectable for the allowance ranks, and trainer Randy L. Klopp hands the reins to Fernando De La Cruz for this sprint. The combination of top speed figures and top rating makes this a confident best bet at 7/2.
Stranger's Church (#5) posts a TrackWiz rating of 66.06 with a 25% career win rate — the best strike rate among the primary contenders. Trainer John Haran runs two horses in this race, and Jose Ramos Gutierrez gets the call on this one at 4/1. A horse who wins a quarter of his starts in allowance company deserves respect for the place slot.
Face the Future (#1) brings a 22% career win rate and a TrackWiz rating of 65.33 — virtually identical to Stranger's Church on both counts. Trainer Daniel Simpson sends him out from the rail, and Joseph D. Ramos takes the mount at 9/2. For trifecta players, this horse is a natural underneath piece in a race where the top three on ratings are clustered close together.
Our three free races all come early on the card and share a common thread: they're all 5½-furlong dirt sprints, which means pace scenario and early speed positioning will be critical. On a tight oval like Horseshoe Indianapolis, horses that can get out cleanly and settle into rhythm near the front tend to hold a structural edge in short sprints — something to keep in mind as you handicap these races yourself.
I Conduit (Race 1, 9/2 morning line, 84.9 TrackWiz rating) leads our free picks into the gate, followed by Nancy's Kitten (Race 2, 7/2, 86.35) and Texas Free (Race 3, 7/2, 86.35). Nancy's Kitten and Texas Free are actually tied at the top of their respective fields on our model — both represent solid value at morning-line 7/2 if they hold anywhere near those odds at post time.
