Free Gulfstream Park Picks & Predictions — October 11, 2026

9 racesAll Gulfstream Park picks

It's a gorgeous October Sunday at Gulfstream Park — clear skies, 89 degrees, and nine races spread across dirt and turf. South Florida doesn't cool down just because the calendar flips, and the track is playing fast and true today. That's good news if you like speed horses, and we've got a few on this card that can take full advantage.

The card is a nice mix of claiming and starter optional fare, with a pair of maiden routes on the turf sandwiched around some meaty dirt races. If you're here for the sprints, Races 1 and 7 are your spots. If routes are your game, Races 8 and 9 look like the most compelling betting vehicles on the card.

Three races are open to everyone today — our free best bets are Races 1, 2, and 3. Races 4 through 9 are part of our full premium breakdown. Nine races, plenty of angles, and at least a couple of spots where the morning line might be leaving money on the table. Let's get into it.

3 Free Races at Gulfstream Park

Race 1

Claiming · 5 fur · Dirt

A clear TrackWiz rating hierarchy tops this 5-furlong dirt claimer, with Noahs Pride sitting well above the field — but Maximus Cat and Freedom Street make this more than a one-horse show.

win9Noahs PrideML 8/5

Noahs Pride is the standout of this field by a wide margin, posting a TrackWiz rating of 89.12 — nearly 18 points clear of the next best. The morning line of 8/5 reflects the market's respect, and with an average speed figure of 57 matching the top of the field, this one has the raw numbers to dictate terms at 5 furlongs. Trainer Victor Barboza, Jr. and jockey Diego A. Herrera are a familiar tandem at Gulfstream, and there's no reason to fade the horse on pure merit here.

place8Maximus CatML 5/2

Maximus Cat (8) brings the second-best TrackWiz rating in the field at 70.98 and shares that top average speed figure of 57 with the top pick. Trained by Gerald S. Bennett and piloted by Edgar Perez, this one figures to press or track the pace and has enough punch to hold second even if Noahs Pride proves dominant up front.

show3Freedom StreetML 8/1

Freedom Street at 8/1 is a sneaky inclusion at third — the TrackWiz rating of 66.05 leads everyone except the top two, and a career win rate of 5% in a maiden-light claiming field isn't alarming. Samy Camacho gets the call for trainer Jeff Engler, and at those morning line odds, this one adds value to exactas and trifectas without breaking the bank.

Race 2

Maiden Claiming · 1 mi · Turf

A maiden claiming turf mile with two stablemates from the same barn headlining at short prices — but Authentic Star and Gustavia give the race a legitimate multi-horse shape that sets up well for exotics.

win3Authentic StarML 4/1

Authentic Star (3) tops the TrackWiz ratings at 72.77, a meaningful gap over the morning line favorites from the D'Angelo barn. Trainer Kathleen O'Connell puts Diego A. Herrera aboard, a confident jockey booking for a horse going a flat mile on turf — a surface and distance that should suit a closer's stride. The 4/1 morning line offers fair value for the top-rated horse in the race, and in a field of non-winners, that rating edge matters.

place7GustaviaML 9/2

Gustavia (7) is right behind at a 70.85 rating and shares the same trainer as Sol Val Fleurie — Antonio Sano doubles up here, and Sany Camacho gets the mount on the one we prefer. With an average speed figure of 54, she should be competitive to the wire on a turf course that rewards horses who travel smoothly through the turn.

show2Philipina AML 9/5

Philipina A (2) is the morning line co-favorite at 9/5 and brings a 55 average speed figure — the best in the field alongside Beautiful Tapdance. Sharing a trainer with Baby Masha (both from the D'Angelo barn), Philipina A is the one the connections prefer based on the odds, and Leonel Reyes gets the leg up. A third-place check feels very reachable at those short prices.

Race 3

Maiden Claiming · 5 1/2 fur · Dirt

Authentic Guitar dominates the TrackWiz ratings in this 5.5-furlong dirt maiden claimer, but Bundalay and English Harbour are live underneath horses that could make life interesting in the exotics.

win6Authentic GuitarML 5/2

Authentic Guitar (6) posts a massive 87.81 TrackWiz rating — the highest in the field by 15 points — and draws the morning line favoritism at 5/2 despite this being a maiden claimer. Edwin Gonzalez picks up the mount for trainer Dante Zanelli, and with an average speed of 56 matching the top of the field, the raw ability is undeniable. In a field of non-winners, this kind of rating separation is exactly what you want to see from a win pick.

place1BundalayML 4/1

Bundalay (1) sits second in the ratings at 72.91 and gets the rail draw for trainer Jose A. Chavez with Raymond Torres up. An average speed of 54 is competitive enough in this company, and breaking from the inside at 5.5 furlongs on dirt could allow a clean trip right from the gate — the kind of setup that holds up for a place check even against a dominant top pick.

show3English HarbourML 3/1

English Harbour (3) checks in third in TrackWiz ratings at 68.67 and carries the 3/1 morning line — the second-lowest in the field — suggesting the public is sweet on this one too. Trainer Lauren Robson sends out Heriberto Figueroa, and that 55 average speed figure is right in the mix. At a fair price, English Harbour is worth including in trifectas as a reliable show anchor.

Our three free races today cover both surfaces and give you a real taste of what this Gulfstream card has to offer. Noahs Pride opens the day as our top-rated free pick — an 89.12 TrackWiz rating in a 5-furlong dirt claiming sprint is a strong profile on a fast track, and at 8/5 on the morning line, the market agrees. In Race 2, we pivot to the turf for a maiden mile, where Authentic Star stands out at a generous 4/1 morning line despite a 72.77 rating that leads this field. Maiden turf miles at Gulfstream can be tricky pace puzzles, and value like this in a soft field is worth noting. Race 3 brings us back to the dirt for a 5½-furlong maiden sprint, and Authentic Guitar (87.81 rating, 5/2 ML) is the most well-rounded number in the group.

The common thread across all three free races: firm footing and clear skies reward horses with clean early position. Keep an eye on how the first few races play out speed-horse versus stalker — if the front-runners are holding late, that pace bias could ripple through the entire card.
