Happy Halloween eve, Delta Downs fans. We've got a full 9-race Friday card at the Vinton oval, running under cloudy skies and a comfortable 77°F — conditions that should keep the surface consistent and fast all afternoon. No weather curveballs to worry about today, which means pace scenarios and class will do most of the talking.
The card is a solid mix of maiden claimers, allowance tests, and claiming routes, capped off by a stakes race in Race 8 that gives today's card a genuine headliner. There's something here for every kind of player, whether you're hunting a single winner or building a multi-race sequence.
TrackWiz has broken down all 9 races. Three of them — Races 1, 2, and 3 — are unlocked for everyone. The remaining six, including the Race 8 stakes with Bar Car and the high-rated Runnin Munnin in Race 7, are available to subscribers.
Best Bets
Race 1
Maiden Claiming · 6 1/2 fur · Dirt
A wide-open maiden claimer at 6½ furlongs where TrackWiz ratings reveal a clear top three separated from the rest of the field — but with all horses sitting at zero career wins, anything can happen on the dirt.
North Lake Kate (No. 2) carries the highest TrackWiz rating in the field at 84.9, a meaningful separation from the next-best horse. Trainer Mark Hibdon puts her in a spot where the morning line of 9/2 looks like a reasonable price for a filly who grades out as the class of this maiden field. Adrian Ramos gets the call, and the 6½-furlong dirt configuration should suit a horse built for a quick sprint with room to settle. At those odds, she represents the best value on the board.
The Get Out (No. 6) checks in with a 68.02 rating — second only to North Lake Kate and a solid step above Liberty Simone. Trainer Juan Sanchez saddles this one at 4/1 on the morning line, which means if the chalk falters, The Get Out is your most logical beneficiary. Carlos Perez riding keeps this one in capable hands for a competitive maiden sprint.
Liberty Simone (No. 1) rates at 66.4, sitting third overall in TrackWiz's model and posting an average speed figure of 53 — right in line with much of this field. The 5/1 morning line gives her some overlay potential in the exotics, and drawing post 1 could be a tactical advantage if she breaks alertly. Trainer John Bernard has her positioned to compete for a piece of this.
