Prairie Meadows Picks & Predictions — June 7, 2026
It's a wet one at Prairie Meadows today. Rain is falling with temperatures sitting around 77°F, which means that dirt surface is going to play differently than it has on dry afternoons this meet — expect the track to seal up and potentially favor horses who can get through the going without losing their footing. Pace and positioning are going to matter even more than usual.
We've got a seven-race card on tap, covering everything from maiden claimers to an allowance feature, with distances ranging from a straight six furlongs out to a mile and seventy yards. There's genuine intrigue throughout, and the wet conditions add an extra layer of puzzle-solving that rewards sharp handicapping.
Three races are open to all TrackWiz readers today, with our top selections free of charge. Races 4 through 7 are part of our premium full-card breakdown — more on that below.
Best Bets
Race 1
Ratings Handicap · 1 mi 70 yd · Dirt
The morning line has two co-favorites bracketing a ratings handicap, but our TrackWiz model sees a value inversion — the 6/1 morning line shot actually tops the field on ratings.
Rebelious draws our top rating at 82.71 — highest in the field — yet the morning line has him at 6/1, which is the kind of disconnect TrackWiz analysis loves to exploit. He also brings a solid 21% career win rate to the table, better than co-favorites First Bid and Parkway. Glenn Corbett takes the mount, and at a route distance of 1 mile and 70 yards, a horse with that rating edge should have plenty of opportunity to sit off the pace and pounce. At 6/1 on the board, this is the best bet of the opener.
First Bid carries the 8/5 morning line chalk and backs it up with an 81.03 TrackWiz rating — just a hair behind our win pick. The 12% career win rate is modest, but this is a handicap format where ratings weight can neutralize raw talent, and Orlando Mojica is one of the sharper pilots in the Prairie Meadows colony. He's a solid place play who should hit the board.
Parkway at 9/5 on the morning line is the second betting choice and posts a 68.13 rating with a 51 average speed figure. He's likely to attract heavy public money, which suppresses his value to win, but in a field of five he's difficult to leave out of exactas and trifectas. Elvin Gonzalez knows this track well, and Parkway's consistent speed numbers suggest he'll be in the thick of it through the stretch.
Race 2
Maiden Claiming · 6 fur · Dirt
Wide-open maiden claiming sprint with a field full of firsters and horses showing limited form — the TrackWiz ratings create a clear top choice, but the value underneath is real.
High Class Lady owns by far the highest TrackWiz rating in this field at 87.81 — a full 22 points clear of the nearest rival — and she posts a 54 average speed figure that matches the top end of this maiden claiming field. Elvin Gonzalez gets the call for trainer Kelli Martinez, and the 5/2 morning line is fair but not generous given her dominance in the ratings. In a race where several horses show zero recorded speed figures, her edge is significant.
The Wife Found Out is a name you won't forget, and at 8/1 morning line she's a legitimate place value with a 65.68 TrackWiz rating and a 54 average speed figure — both second-best in the field. Ken Tohill is a capable handler who can put a horse in position, and trainer David McShane gives her a reasonable shot. If the favorite runs into any trouble, this one could easily steal the place spot.
Telling Tales opens at 3/1 on the morning line with a 47.42 rating and a 53 average speed figure — making her a logical show option in a field where several entrants have no speed data at all. Trainer Randy Morse has her ready to fire, and Daniel Vergara should get her into a good spot early. She's worth including in the bottom of trifectas as a bridge between the top two picks and the question marks in the field.
Race 3
Maiden Special Weight · 6 fur · Dirt
A maiden special weight sprint where the morning line favorite and the TrackWiz top pick are aligned — but second and third choices are worth watching for exacta depth.
Galvanizer is the standout here, posting the field's highest TrackWiz rating at 88.54 and tying for the top average speed figure at 55. The 2/1 morning line reflects public respect, and trainer Brandi Jo Fett sends him out with Glenn Corbett — a pairing that's shown up in the winners' circle at Prairie Meadows. In a maiden special weight event where class matters, Galvanizer's numbers justify the chalk price.
Vino Vida grades out second-best on TrackWiz ratings at 69.85 and matches the 55 average speed figure with horses above her in the field. At 5/1 on the morning line, she's a genuine value play for exacta and place tickets. Trainer Pam Schutz has her pointing at this spot, and Alberto Pusac is capable of rating her into a good position off the likely pace.
Shining Eye opens at 9/2 and carries a 54.17 TrackWiz rating with no recorded average speed — which means she's likely facing this distance or surface with limited public data to go on. Elvin Gonzalez is the biggest reason to include her at the bottom of tickets; he's been dialed in at Prairie Meadows and can coax a big effort from a first-time performer. Trainer Tanner Tracy sends her out as a live underdog worth sprinkling in trifectas.
Our free best bets today span the first three races, and there's a common thread worth noting: all three go on a dirt surface that's likely to be rated sloppy or muddy by post time. That changes things. Horses with proven wet-track form — or those with strong enough ratings to overcome an unknown bias — move up in our model.
Leading the free coverage is Galvanizer in Race 3, a Maiden Special Weight at six furlongs who comes in as the morning-line 2/1 favorite and carries our highest rating of the free trio at 88.54. In Race 2, High Class Lady (5/2 ML, 87.81 rating) headlines the maiden claimer field and profiles as a solid win candidate. And to kick off the card, Rebelious opens at 6/1 in the Ratings Handicap at a mile and seventy yards — a juicy morning-line price for a horse our analysis rates at 82.71. Keep an eye on that one for value.
