Parx Racing Picks & Predictions — October 20, 2026

9 racesAll Parx Racing picks

It's a crisp, comfortable Tuesday at Parx Racing — clear skies, 67 degrees, and a fast Bensalem dirt strip that should play right into the hands of horses with early pace. Nine races are on the board today, ranging from maiden claimers to a headlining Stakes event, and TrackWiz has you covered from gate to wire.

The card has genuine depth. You've got maiden claimers to kick things off, a pair of Allowance Optional Claiming routes in the middle of the card, and a Stakes race in Race 8 that's worth circling on your program. With conditions this clean — no wind, no slop, no excuses — expect honest efforts across the board and times that will mean something when you're projecting pace scenarios.

Three races are fully open to all readers today, and our premium full-card breakdown covers the remaining six. Whether you're playing a few races on your lunch break or building multi-race tickets for the afternoon, there's something here for every level of player.

Best Bets

Race 1

Maiden Claiming · 7 fur · Dirt

A sprawling 13-horse maiden claiming field on the dirt sprint, but two horses separate themselves clearly from the pack — this one comes down to whether the morning line favorite can hold off the TrackWiz top-rated horse.

win7BulmaML 2/1

Bulma draws the 7 post and lands at 2/1 on the morning line, but our rating of 88.54 suggests the market has this about right — maybe slightly undervalued given the gap between her and the rest of the field. Paco Lopez climbs aboard, one of the sharpest riders in the Mid-Atlantic, and trainer Claudio A. Gonzalez puts a horse in position to fire first crack. Her avg speed figure of 52 is mid-pack, but the overall rating dominance here is hard to ignore in a maiden field where most rivals are in the 10-40 range.

place1First Class T L CML 5/2

First Class T L C (No. 1) carries the second-highest TrackWiz rating in the race at 83.17 and is the morning line co-second choice at 5/2. Luis M. Ocasio gets the call for trainer Michael V. Pino, and with a top-post draw in a big field, she'll have every chance to get a clean trip and be sitting in the right spot down the lane.

show13Love in the HillsML 3/1

Love in the Hills (No. 13) is the morning line third choice at 3/1 and posts a solid rating of 68.58 — comfortably clear of everyone outside the top two. Anthony Y. Nunez pilots for trainer Cesareo Marquez, and in a field where most horses are unproven, her relative standing makes her a logical exotic inclusion for show or underneath in tri tickets.

Race 2

Claiming · 6 fur · Dirt

A nine-horse claiming sprint where one horse stands well above on our ratings, but a pair of 20% career winners lurking near the bottom of the board give this race some legitimate multi-race ticket complexity.

win2Filled With DesireML 7/2

Filled With Desire (No. 2) tops the field with an 86.35 TrackWiz rating and checks in as the 7/2 morning line choice — solid value for a horse this clear of the competition. Kendry Rivera rides for trainer Bobbi Anne Hawthorne, who also has a second entrant in the race, signaling confidence in the barn's readiness. The 11% career win rate is modest, but in a claiming field at this level, the rating advantage is the key separator.

place6We Miss NeilML 5/1

We Miss Neil (No. 6) sits second in our ratings at 72.96 and offers some value at 5/1 on the morning line. Trainer Jose G. Gonzalez-Milian keeps a horse competitive, and jockey Silvestre Gonzalez gives him a reliable partner in a six-furlong sprint. The low career win percentage (2%) is a flag, but for place exotics, the speed and rating profile put him firmly in the mix.

show9Dirty CashML 6/1

Dirty Cash (No. 9) brings a 20% career win rate — tied for the field's best — and lands at 6/1 on the morning line with a rating of 54.95. Trainer Kathleen A. Demasi has this one ready to run, and that career winning percentage in a claiming field tells you this horse knows how to fire. A solid show bet or tri underneath piece.

Race 3

Claiming · 6 fur · Dirt

This six-furlong claiming sprint for fillies and mares is tighter than it looks — several horses cluster in the 60-68 rating range, and the pace scenario could shuffle the order considerably down the lane.

win1My Two Sophia'sML 4/1

My Two Sophia's (No. 1) headlines with the top TrackWiz rating of 85.62 and the field's best average speed figure at 55. Julio A. Hernandez rides for trainer Panagiotis A. Synnefias, and the 17% career win rate in a claiming field represents a horse that knows how to get to the wire first. At 4/1 on the morning line, she offers fair value given how much she separates from the pack on our model.

place8Rogue JusticeML 6/1

Rogue Justice (No. 8) nudges ahead of Mamarsha in our ratings at 67.25 and comes in at a workable 6/1 morning line. Trainer Miguel Penaloza sends her out with Jean Aguilar, and with a 15% career win rate and a 55 average speed figure, she's got the tools to be running late in a pace-influenced sprint. Good value play underneath.

show4MamarshaML 7/2

Mamarsha (No. 4) is the morning line second choice at 7/2 and brings a very solid 18% career win rate — second-best in the field. Dexter Haddock is a capable rider, and trainer Miguel A. Rodriguez has this one primed. The 67.12 rating is right in the heart of the competitive cluster, making her a natural show or exacta key underneath My Two Sophia's.

Our three free best bets today are spread across the early part of the card, and they share a common thread: horses with strong TrackWiz ratings facing fields where the pace figures to set up favorably. Bulma opens the day in Race 1 — a 7-furlong maiden claimer on dirt — and grades out as the class of that field at an 88.54 rating, the highest mark among our free picks. On a clear, fast track like today's, a horse with that kind of raw rating in a maiden field is exactly where we want to be. Morning line at 2/1 is fair, but there's a case she runs bigger than that if the chalk collapses in the pools.

Races 2 and 3 bring us a pair of 6-furlong dirt claimers, and both Filled With Desire (86.35, 7/2 ML) and My Two Sophia's (85.62, 4/1 ML) fit the profile of horses who can dictate or sit close to a honest pace and hold on. At a tight, bullring-style track like Parx, six furlongs on dirt often favors the presser who can tuck in and pounce at the quarter-pole — keep that in mind when assessing pace scenarios in these two sprints.
