Parx Racing Picks & Predictions — July 8, 2026
It's a warm Wednesday afternoon at Parx Racing — clear skies, 81 degrees, and a full nine-race card on the dirt. Conditions are about as straightforward as you'll get in July: no weather variables, a fast surface expected, and plenty of speed-favoring setups throughout the day.
All nine races are contested on the dirt, which means pace scenarios are front and center. With the heat baking the track all day, expect times to be sharp and front-runners to get every advantage. That makes early speed a factor to monitor from Race 1 all the way through the closer.
We've got three free race breakdowns to get you started, plus six premium races behind the paywall for subscribers who want the full-card picture. There's a lot to like today — let's dig in.
Best Bets
Race 1
Claiming · 6 fur · Dirt
A wide-open claiming sprint where the top four horses are separated by just six rating points — anyone from the 4 through the 6 could hit the board, making exacta structure here as important as your top pick.
Angie's Reward is the class of this field and it isn't particularly close. She carries the top TrackWiz rating at 88.54 and backs it up with a 25% career win rate — easily the best winning percentage among the six runners. Trainer Brandon L. Kulp sends her out with Angel R. Rodriguez aboard, and at 2/1 on the morning line she's a justifiable favorite. In a race where the pace should be honest enough to set her up, expect her to be rolling late in this six-furlong test.
Wine and Roses (4) checks in with an 83.83 TrackWiz rating and a 12% career win clip, and at 7/2 she represents fair value if Angie's Reward handles the favorite's role. Trainer Kathleen Demasi puts Frankie Pennington in the irons — a solid tactical rider for a one-turn sprint. Her average speed figure of 53 matches the top group, so she's not outgunned on raw numbers.
Silver City Kitty (5) is the third horse in this race to post an average speed of 53, and her 15% career win percentage is the second-best in the field. At 5/2 morning line she'll likely be underlaid to show, but her consistency makes her a sensible exotics anchor. Robert Mosco has her positioned well off the pace of a likely contentious early duel.
Race 2
Maiden Claiming · 1 mi · Dirt
This maiden claiming mile on the dirt is dominated by one horse whose rating towers over the rest of the field — the question isn't who wins, it's who can hang on for second and third money.
The Fridge (6) is in a class of his own here with an 87.81 TrackWiz rating — a full 30 points clear of the next-best competitor in a maiden claimer that has some real bottom to it. Trained by Ronald B. Abrams and ridden by Abner Adorno, who teams up again here after partnering in Race 1, this horse posts an average speed figure of 53 against a field where most are sitting at 51-52 or have no recorded figure at all. The 5/2 morning line may shorten significantly once the public sees this gap — bet him early if you like the number.
Chuck's Law (4) gets the place nod based on a 57.50 rating and an average speed of 52, giving him the second-best numerical profile in the race. Trainer Irving Rodriguez sends out Bryan L. Torres, and at 2/1 on the morning line the public clearly agrees he's the main backup. In a maiden field where so many lack any speed figure at all, that baseline figure matters.
It's Go Time (1) earns the show spot with a 54.17 TrackWiz rating — third-best in the field — even without a recorded average speed figure, suggesting recent bullet-free works or limited public record. Trainer Alfredo Velazquez places Eliseo Ruiz up top, a jockey comfortable on a front-running or pressing type over the Parx one-mile oval. At 9/2, if The Fridge dominates up front and Chuck's Law gets the place, It's Go Time could sneak into a superfecta spot at a workable price.
Race 3
Claiming · 1 mi · Dirt
A claiming mile that looks like a three-horse battle on paper — but the horse with the highest rating is going off at 4/1, offering genuine value against a pair of shorter-priced rivals who haven't shown the same level of consistent form.
Got Game (6) is the standout angle of the early card. A TrackWiz rating of 85.62 leads the field by a healthy margin, and that 40% career win rate is flat-out elite for a claiming animal — no other runner in this race is within 15 percentage points. Trainer Alfredo Velazquez puts Eliseo Ruiz back in the saddle, mirroring the same connections from Race 2, and at 4/1 morning line this is arguably the best value on the card in the free races. Don't let the odds fool you — the numbers say this horse belongs at the top.
Amy Mule (5) carries a 74.16 rating and a 15% career win percentage, slotting in as the second-most accomplished horse in the field on the TrackWiz model. Trainer Jose Santaella-Calderon also runs K D Kakes in this race, but Amy Mule is clearly the barn's better horse by rating. The 2/1 morning line makes her tough to back on top, but she's a logical place finisher if Got Game gets the trip she needs.
Hi Heeled Warrior (2) is listed as the 9/5 favorite, and that 26% career win rate supports the public's confidence. However, a TrackWiz rating of 70.74 — third in the field — suggests she may be slightly overbet relative to her actual edge, making her a better show play than a win wager at these odds. Trainer Irving Rodriguez again teams with Bryan L. Torres, a combination that's shown up on the card multiple times today.
Our three free previews cover Races 1, 2, and 3 — and together they paint a consistent picture. Angie's Reward opens the card at 2/1 in a six-furlong Claiming sprint, and her TrackWiz rating of 88.54 is the highest of the morning on the free side. Six furlongs on a fast Parx dirt track is a distance where early positioning matters enormously, and she fits that profile. In Race 2, The Fridge stretches out to a mile in a Maiden Claiming event, posting an 87.81 rating at a workable 5/2 morning line — solid value if the price holds. Race 3 brings Got Game at 4/1 in another one-mile Claiming affair, and that morning line makes him one of the more interesting value plays of the early card given his 85.62 rating.
One thread connecting all three free picks: they're all competing on a surface that figures to play fast by post time. Don't overthink the conditions today — clean trip, clear sailing, and the numbers will do the talking.
