Happy Halloween eve, horseplayers. Horseshoe Indianapolis is rolling out a 9-race Friday card under clear skies and a comfortable 58°F — ideal conditions for a full afternoon at the races. The dirt should be playing fast, and with a couple of turf routes on the back half of the card, there's plenty of variety to sink your teeth into.
The card leans heavily on maiden company, which means pace scenarios can get chaotic and first-time starter angles carry real weight. That said, there are two allowance spots mixed in — including a turf mile and a lightning-quick 330-yard quarter horse dash — that give experienced horses a chance to separate themselves from the newcomers. Lots of moving parts today, and that's exactly where TrackWiz analysis earns its keep.

The morning line favorite isn't the top-rated horse in this maiden claimer — Bertie's World owns a clear TrackWiz rating edge over the field and offers real value at 5/1.
Bertie's World tops the TrackWiz ratings at 74.69 — a significant gap over the morning-line favorite Three Point Seven (59.33) and the rest of this field. Trainer Antonio Duran sends out this runner with Santo Sanjur in the irons, a combo worth tracking at Horseshoe. At 5/1 on the morning line, you're getting a legitimately top-rated horse at overlay odds in a wide-open maiden claimer, which is exactly the spot to attack.
Three Point Seven draws the rail and carries the public's money at 7/5, so the place pool should be juicy if Bertie's World beats him. Orlando Mojica is an experienced hand and the 59.33 rating is second-best in the field, with a matching average speed of 53. He's the logical target if you need a win-pool anchor, but the value is clearly elsewhere.
Velvet Reign (rating 55.83) slots in as the third-best horse on our numbers and lands at a workable 7/2 on the morning line. Trainer Robert M. Gorham sends her out with Andres P. Ulloa up, and her average speed of 52 is in line with most of the field. She rounds out a sensible exacta/trifecta box with the top two picks.

Bottom line: Maid of Steel is the marquee free play, the turf races on the back end are loaded with value potential, and the Race 9 quarter horse sprint is one of the most intriguing finishes to a card we've seen at Horseshoe Indy in a while. Good weather, a fast track, and a diverse race card — that's a solid Friday formula. Full analysis, exotic ticket breakdowns, and pace projections for all nine races are waiting for subscribers. Check out TrackWiz Premium and make the most of today's card. Good luck out there.
