Horseshoe Indianapolis Picks & Predictions — June 6, 2026
Happy Saturday from Horseshoe Indianapolis, where a nine-race card is set to roll under partly cloudy skies and a comfortable 79°F. Conditions look ideal for both the dirt and turf runners today — no weather excuses, no track bias alibis. Just horses doing their thing.
The card leans heavily on maiden races, which means plenty of unknown quantities and first-time angles to dig into. But there's also a turf claiming mile, a straight allowance route, and a 350-yard quarter-horse sprint to close it out — enough variety to keep every kind of bettor engaged from first post to last call.
Our TrackWiz analysis has combed through the full field and flagged some genuinely interesting price plays today, including a 12/1 morning-line shot in the Maiden Special Weight and a 10/1 longshot on the turf that we think is significantly underlaid. Stick with us.
Best Bets
Race 1
Maiden Claiming · 1 mi · Dirt
A maiden claiming mile on the dirt with two standout TrackWiz ratings well above the field — expect Z's Fireball and Hunted Prayer to dominate the pace conversation while the rest scramble for scraps.
Z's Fireball draws the rail and earns the top TrackWiz rating in the field at 82.71 — a significant gap over the morning-line favorite Hunted Prayer at 81.86. At 6/1 on the morning line, this is a legit value play on a horse our model has pegged as the best in the field despite the public likely gravitating toward the shorter price in post 5. Alberto Burgos gets the call for trainer Stephen V. Fosdick, and the inside post at a mile on the dirt is workable — this horse looks like the one to beat.
Hunted Prayer is the morning-line favorite at 9/5 with a TrackWiz rating of 81.86 — the second-best number in the race and very close to Z's Fireball. Jose Ramos Gutierrez is aboard for trainer John Haran, and this horse figures to be forwardly placed in a field that lacks obvious early speed separation. Even if Z's Fireball gets the edge at the wire, Hunted Prayer should be right there in the exacta.
Boss Justice shows the highest average speed figure in the field at 54, making this a horse that can put up a competitive number on the board. Trainer Kenia Hernandez sends out this horse at a reasonable 9/2 morning line, and with Joshua Morales in the irons, there's enough here to include in multi-leg exotics as a show safety. The rating of 55.07 is a tier below the top two, but in a maiden field like this, that gap can close on a good trip.
Race 2
Maiden Claiming · 5 1/2 fur · Dirt
Pernicious looks like a class of her own in this 5.5-furlong maiden claimer, but the morning-line favorite Catty Justice will push the pace and keep things honest early.
Pernicious tops the TrackWiz ratings in this field by a wide margin — an 88.54 rating against a field where no other horse cracks 71. Hannah Leahey gets the mount for trainer Jose Cazares, and this filly's average speed figure of 53 ties for the best in the race. At 2/1 on the morning line, she's not a bargain, but the gap between her and the competition is substantial enough that she warrants top billing as the best bet of the early card.
Catty Justice draws the rail and carries the second-best rating in the field at 70.91 — a full 17-plus points behind Pernicious but a comfortable cushion over the rest. Jose Ramos Gutierrez is a sharp booking for trainer Tomas Medina on a short 5.5-furlong sprint where the inside post is an asset. She's the logical play to fill out the exacta behind the top pick.
Lo Machar checks in with a 62.74 TrackWiz rating — third-best in the field — and trainer Scott D. Mullins sends this one out at a playable 5/1 morning line with Irving Moncada up. If the top two horses set a sizzling early pace and come back to the field, Lo Machar's closing profile could be rewarded on this relatively short sprint. A useful show ticket and exacta backup.
Race 3
Maiden Claiming · 1 mi 70 yd · Dirt
Pro Fever is the class of this maiden field going a route of ground, and the morning line reflects it — but Amigomeister at 5/2 makes this an interesting top-two exacta situation with real value underneath.
Pro Fever tops out at an 88.54 TrackWiz rating — the highest mark in the field and tied for the best number on the entire card through the first three races. Alberto Burgos picks up the mount for Randy L. Klopp, a trainer who clearly conditions this horse well for the added distance of 1 mile 70 yards. At 2/1 on the morning line, Pro Fever is a deserving favorite, and the average speed figure of 52 is tied among the top contenders.
Amigomeister comes in with an 81.02 TrackWiz rating — second-best in the field by a comfortable margin — and Fernando De La Cruz is a quality booking for trainer Tim Eggleston who also saddles Indy Kid in the same race. The 5/2 morning line suggests the public has spotted this one too, but there's genuine form behind the number. A confident play to run second behind Pro Fever.
Amazing Mike rates at 60.73 — third in the field — and carries an average speed of 52 alongside an intriguing 6/1 morning line for trainer John Haran with Amir Mendoza aboard. In a maiden route where the top two could take each other on early, a horse with a legitimate third-best rating at show odds is exactly the type of inclusion that pays in trifectas. Don't leave Amazing Mike off your tickets.
We're opening the card with three free best bets, and the thread running through all of them is pace. On a dirt track with no weather-related bias in play, horses that can settle off a contested early pace and finish with energy have a clear edge today. That's exactly the profile we like in Z's Fireball (Race 1, 6/1 ML) — a morning-line overlay in the maiden claimer going a flat mile. At those odds, there's real value if the pace sets up the way we're projecting.
In Race 2, Pernicious checks in as the 2/1 favorite over 5½ furlongs and earns that morning-line respect with the highest TrackWiz rating among our free picks at 88.54. Race 3's top selection Pro Fever matches that exact rating going a route of ground at 1 mile and 70 yards — a rare tie at the top that makes the 2/1 price look fair but not generous. Free-card readers, these three races are a strong starting point for your Saturday tickets.
